Dedicated to Preserving the Legacy of Kenny Washington and Rebuilding the Lincoln High School Athletic Facilities in his Honor.

Who We Are

We’re the Kenny Washington Stadium Foundation - an organization of volunteers dedicated to preserving the legacy of American sports civil rights icon Kenny Washington and advancing the restoration and rebuilding of the athletic facilities at Lincoln High School, Los Angeles in his honor.

What We’ve Done

So far, a few of our successful projects have included the dedication of Kenny Washington Square in Northeast Los Angeles (the only Los Angeles Rams player so honored!) and the restoration of the historic tennis courts and adjacent hillside at Lincoln High.

Our Ultimate Goals

To see Kenneth Stanley Washington enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio and the creation of a state-of-the-art athletic facility for Lincoln High School and the surrounding community with year-round multi-use sports programs for local residents.

Invite To Memorial Game VI

Join us on Friday, October 14th as we gather again for yet another special evening of celebrating the life and legacy of Kenny Washington. As always, we'll have special guests, throwback jerseys and a great football game between our Lincoln Tigers and the Franklin Panthers.

It's the event where Tigers - young and old - return home, one more time. Be there.

The Kenny Washington Memorial Game

It’s our annual football game held to honor the life and legacy of Kenny Washington. Our special halftime always includes members of the Washington family, special guests, local politicians and our crystal awards recipients. It’s also the highest attended game of the season for the Tiger Nation and is a wonderful community event!

Each year at halftime - in tribute to Kenny Washington - the game gives us the opportunity to recognize a local hero, a Los Angeles legend and a ground-breaking pioneer.

The Throwback Jersey Tradition

At the first Kenny Washington Memorial Game in 2011, the Tigers wore authentic 1935 jerseys to honor the City Championship team lead by Kenny Washington. We were the first high school in California prep history to do so. Since then, the throwback tradition has thrived each year through sponsorships by Lincoln High alumni. Each throwback jersey includes a themed commemorative game patch.

After each game, the Tigers are allowed to keep their throwback jersey as a memento of their participation in the event.
