The 1952 Throwback Jerseys

The Lincoln Tiger Varsity Football Team will continue the tradition of wearing authentic throwback jerseys from the school’s past at Kenny Washington Memorial Game VII.   At this year’s game, the Tigers will take the field in the iconic orange home jerseys worn by the 1952 Northern League Championship team.  The ’52 Tigers varsity was considered to be man-for-man, the smallest team of student-athletes in the City.  This year’s game will feature a replay of the 1952 league championship game as the Tigers take on the Eagle Rock Eagles!

Lincoln High School, Los Angeles was the first high school in California prep sports history to wear a throwback jersey in 2011.  While others have followed, we were the first!  This will be the 7th continuous year the Kenny Washington Memorial Game will see the Tigers in authentic jerseys from their past – a tradition started to honor the legacy of the great Kenny Washington.

This year, you can help sponsor one of our student-athletes with a $50 Sponsorship which will cover the cost of a 1952 game jersey for a Tiger on the field.
